For authors ready to nurture their story from root to petal with multi-stage editorial care, featuring a developmental edit, line edit, and copy edit.
A developmental edit looks at the big picture, focusing on elements such as: structure, plot, pacing, themes, and character development, and is designed to help enhance your manuscript before stylistic and copy edits take place. In-document feedback is provided via comments, along with an editorial letter accompanying the manuscript. This is typically the first edit done by authors. Authors selecting this package should expect to have sufficient time for revisions and line edits before the publication date.
This package is not for authors with less than 3 months until publication.
This package includes two (2) revisions: line edit + copy edit.
Minimum of 4 to 6-week turnaround time for developmental stage only. Please reach out to discuss additional turnaround time for remaining revisions.
Workshopping help via email or messenger and one 1-hour Google Meet session (if needed). I’ll help you on those trickier edits and cheerlead you through the process!
Your manuscript is blossoming, and now you're ready to enhance your prose and tighten your flow with line edits and copy edits.
Line edits (or style edits) help elevate your story! I’ll do a line-by-line edit, focusing on style, flow, and readability. I’ll offer suggestions to enhance your work. These might include word choice swaps, restructuring of passages, and pointing out repetitive language. All is done while maintaining your unique voice. There is little to no focus on grammar or spelling during this phase. This type of editing is typically before a copy edit.
This package includes one (1) revision and copy edit.
Minimum of 2-3 week turnaround time but could be more, depending on word count. This timeframe does not include turnaround time for follow-up copy edit. Copy edit date must be determined at the of line edit scheduling. Please have ample time available for this service.

It's time for some refinement to your story after those line revisions. These are your copy edits and final proofread, and then you're on your way to publishing!
Copy editing focuses on grammar, spelling, punctuation and clarity in an already edited manuscript. Creative license is considered because sometimes those commas are an artistic choice. This is a buffing before your final proofread!
This package includes one (1) revision and final proofread.

The finishing touch before your book is plucked from the soil and offered to your admirers. Are you ready for your final proofread?
The final proofread is the very last step in your manuscript before publishing. This is the final polish that makes your work shine! It’s the last pass to check for pesky grammar and spelling errors that slipped through the copy edit (because we’re all human!).
Minimum of 2-3 week turnaround time but could be more, depending on word count.
You can now add a proofread to any package for 20% off the proofread rate. With the help of a proofreading assistant, all proofread add-ons will receive two sets of eyes during this final editing phase of your manuscript!
Flat rate, single pass editing options for authors taking their first steps or needing one round of professional editing at a budget-friendly rate.
Because indie publishing is an expensive venture, I strive to be as affordable as possible while doing my best to keep up with the challenging economy. My packages are priced competitively, but may change on a case-by-case basis. Now I also offer flat fee editing on select services as I work to meet the unique needs of every writer. At this time proofreading is not offered at a flat fee rate.
As always, please reach out with questions! If your budget is even tighter than listed below, we can try to work through it.
Please note: These flat fee services do not include revision passes or workshopping options. I can help clarify my suggestions, but I won’t revisit a project to see if you’re on the right track with edits.

Developmental Edit (includes inline comments + an editorial letter)
Developmental Critique (includes an critique letter but no inline comments)
